Graduate Student: Beautiful campus, friendly faculty members, supportive professors and amazing classmates from all over the world. I'm so glad I made the choice to come here - I love it.
No matter what your major is, Northeastern works to make the co-ops worthwhile for students and truly help them explore different careers. Students all really want to help each other out and there's a really good sense of community and school spirit (always kids repping merch.) Also, co-ops here alone are a fantastic reason to attend and you should definitely look into that. Being in the city gives you lots of options for food and activities there's always something new to explore or some new cafe to discover. Greek life is prevalent but not overwhelming - I rushed this year and it was one of the best decisions I've made. The campus is absolutely beautiful and unlike other city schools it's very cohesive (not just random buildings scattered around a neighborhood.) There are activities for students to participate in all the time. Read 3,865 reviewsįreshman: So glad I came here! The professors are so caring and really want to see their students succeed. If this is a negative or positive is up to your own interpretation. Note, this school (as with all Universities) has a no drug policy but amongst students is notorious for having a large amount of students who do weed recreationally. A lot of people say this college has no party scene, but the amount of "kickbacks" I've stumbled past might beg to differ. The teachers for the most part are excellent and really care about what they teach, though some can be more eccentric than others. While dorms/housing/food vary in quality depending on where you stay on campus (such as Kresge being only apartments versus Porter being primarily dorms) the dorms as a whole tend to be on the rather small size, and past Sophomore year housing isn't guaranteed. It should be required reading for every policy maker.Freshman: My experience so far the UCSC has been fantastic! The campus is gorgeous, set right in the middle of a gigantic forest and only a short bus ride from the beach, which is perfect if you have a penchant for the outdoors.
